This is one of the first of two Arizona map paintings I painted

It was painted using acrylic paints thinned with water to allow the map to  show through

The acid oxidized copper paints that I used for the clouds gives it sleepy quality especially with the full moon peeking through

Silver Mountains (photo print) patina This is one of theThe original Silver Mountains was created with a background entirely made with imitation silver leaf. The ground below the mountains was textured first and the sky has the texture of the canvas weave peeking through it. The clouds and the water feature under the mountains were rendered using acid oxidized copper paint to make it patina. I knew when I did the acid over the aluminum leaf it would eat away some of the metal so I painted it the background
