Very Large English Staffordshire Pottery Flatback Figural Group of a Shepherdess and Lamb grandfather clock Made to be installed onDETAILS An antique, Victorian sentimental figure of a shepherdess wearing a Scottish tartan shawl and holding a floral wreath crown. She stands beside a brick wall upon which is perched a small sheep. Staffordshire figures were made from around 1740 to 1900 by various pottery factories in England and Scotland. Most have no makers marks. Victorian flatback examples were undecorated on one side because they were designed to sit on a shelf or fireplace
